Xinrong (Carol) Guo majored in Biology (with a focus on molecular and cellular biology) during her undergraduate studies. After graduation, she conducted research in immunology and infectious diseases at Stanford University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is expanding her interests toward the intersection of computer science and biomedicine, exploring data-driven and algorithmic approaches in the life sciences. Beyond academia, she has been deeply engaged in artistic practice, with a particular passion for dance and visual storytelling. She has participated in a K-pop dance crew, contributing to both choreography and performance, while also training in Chinese dance and contemporary dance, and performing on stage multiple times. In addition, she actively explores photography, film, and theatrical directing, using visual composition and spatial storytelling to convey emotion and narrative. To her, science and art are not separate pursuits, but complementary modes of expression—together shaping how she understands the world and creates meaning within it.
